I have experience working with several presentations such as addictions, domestic violence, trauma, depression, loss, PTSD, anger, transgender issues and relationship problems. I work with adults, children, adolescents, families and individuals with a diagnosis of Parkinson Disease.

Integrative

I work integratively; using Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Systemic, Narrative, Intercultural and CBT approaches. I know that practicing this way enables me to work with each client on an individual basis, adapting the therapy to suit their unique presentation. My core trainings are Psychodynamic, Person Centered and Intercultural therapies and they form the basis of my practice.

Psychodynamic

Working psychodynamically assists clients to make connections to their past and find patterns that relate to their current issues. Working Person Centered helps clients facilitate their process. The use of the core conditions empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard provide clients with conditions and opportunities to work towards autonomy and self direction.

Intercultural

Intercultural practice allows the exploration of cultural issues that could consciously or subconsciously be a block to a client engaging in a therapeutic relationship that facilitates successful therapy. As mentioned above, I work within the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) ethical framework: for more information regarding the BACP and their code of ethics please visit their website.
